Description:
NAFA graduate Teo Li-Chin teams up with Julian Jacobson, professor at the Royal College of Music in the athletic brilliance of Mozart's only sonata for two pianos, surely one of the most joyous works he ever composed, continuing with the solid classicism of Brahms's much-loved Haydn Variations, Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue", an iconic work from the Jazz Age and concluding with Ravel's riotous "La Valse", in which the whole world of Viennese opulence collapses in a cataclysmic fury, echoing the composer's reaction to the tragedy of the First World War.
